When I was a child,

I learned to pray.

Now I lay me down to sleep.

If I should die before I wake,

I never learned how 

to TALK to

God.  

I am a child who

is learning to 

PRAY.

without understanding
as a child.
I never thought I

Now I think that

Lord, cradle my soul

Give me purpose
in the dawn.
And if I die before I wake,
I pray thee Lord my soul to take.
